About Institution

 

The institution was established in 1987 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education & Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh. The polytechnic offers three diploma programmes: Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Engineering. The campus spans 33.87 acres of land (Reg. No. 333/2 dated 18--1987) and has a built-up area of 8,879.774 square meters, providing a conducive environment for academic and practical learning.In the year 2024 the Electronics and Communication Engineering Branch got ACCREDITED by NBA team.

 



Department of Technical Education:- The Department of Technical Education was established in G.O.Ms.No.1166, Education Department dated 5-6-1957 to bring about coordinated efforts for the development of Technical Education by pooling of Engineering Colleges from the Director of Public Instructions and the Polytechnics from the Department of Industries and Technical Examinations from the Commissioner of Government Examinations.

The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 1987 with a sanctioned intake of 40 students in the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Program. The present intake in the program is 60. The faculty is well-qualified, dynamic, and experienced. The department is consistently achieving good academic results. The department is having a strong backup of qualified staff to support the laboratory work. The department has a good academic culture and a conducive working environment for teaching learning and development. The department boasts well-equipped laboratories. The department has adequate infrastructure to achieve academic excellence.
