About the Sciences & Humanities Department

The Department of Sciences and Humanities at Dr. B.R.A. GMR Polytechnic College, Rajahmundry plays a vital foundational role in shaping students into competent engineering professionals. The department comprises the disciplines of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Library Science, and Physical Education.

Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry equip students with essential scientific knowledge and analytical skills that form the backbone of engineering education. These subjects strengthen problem-solving abilities and prepare students for advanced technical learning in their respective branches.

The English section focuses on developing industry-ready communication skills. Through training in communication skills, soft skills, and employability skills, students gain the confidence and competence required to excel in interviews, workplace communication, and professional environments.

Our Library serves as a major academic support center, housing textbooks, reference books, journals, and digital resources for all branches. The  Digital Library is one of the most widely utilized digital library facilities in the state, with over 60,000+ user accesses, helping students access high-quality learning materials anytime.

The Physical Education wing promotes holistic student development by providing access to gym facilities and encouraging participation in sports and games. Students regularly represent the college at regional, state, and national levels, showcasing excellence in various sporting events.
